Q: What is Krav Maga?

A: Krav Maga was originally developed by the Israeli Defense Forces. It was designed to rapidly teach hand to hand combat techniques to Israeli soldiers.

Krav Maga has been re-developed and adapted for self-defense.

Q: What is Citadel Krav Maga and what orgnization does it belong to?

A: Citadel Krav Maga is an authorized American Krav Maga Federation (AKMF) school. We have an Adults Program, a Teens program and a Kids Program. Citadel Krav Maga is run by it's Chief Instructor, John Veverka, who holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga with the American Krav Maga Federation under Mr. Mark Cox and the Authentic Israeli Krav Maga Academy under Grand Master Danny Hazan.

Q: What does Citadel Krav Maga's emblem mean?

A: Citadel Krav Maga's stylized shield emblem pays homage to the Krav Maga Kuf-Mem emblem. The star at the top of the shield represents the AKMF.

Q: What's the minimum Age requirement for Adult Classes?

A: Ages 18+ 

Ages 4-9 can attend kids class with an electronic waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian signature.

Ages 10-17 can attend teens class with an electronic waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian signature.

Q: What gear do I need to bring?
A: 
 To ensure a comfortable and effective training session, we recommend brinning the following items: 

- Appropriate gym attire: wear a comfortable t-shirt and gym pants or shorts that ensure proper coverage and a secure fit. 

- Gym towel: Don't forget to bring a gym towel to keep yourself dry and refreshed during your training session.

- Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial. Bring a water bottle with you, as we provide a water cooler for you to refill and quench your thirst.



Q: How many classes are recommended or required?
A: We recommend at least 2 classes a week. Class attendance requirements only 
pertain to belt level exam eligibility. Any classes that are listed as Level 1 or Level 1/2 open to new guests and new members. 

Can I wear shoes?
A: No, wearing shoes on the mat is not permitted. 
In addition, we kindly request that all individuals wear shoes off the mats. This practice further promotes cleanliness and hygiene within our training area. If you need to use the restroom or move around the facility, please ensure you have appropriate footwear on.

Q: What can I expect walking through the door?
A: Expect a welcome greeting from the instructor or other students of the school. We train people from all walks of life as we are all here for the same thing. If there any concerns or questions, please feel free to speak 
to an instructor.

Q: What is a typical class like?
A: We start the class off by bowing in, going into warm ups, following by the 
lesson plans for the day; e.g. combative strikes, self defense techniques, 
weapons defenses, etc.
